The Ownership Directory

Who owns every brand on the Black beauty shelf — the living A-to-Z ledger. 53 brands, one verdict each, every verdict verified to a dated source. Free, and kept current.

Why we built it

Because you asked for it — over and over, in almost the same words. Under every ownership video, the most-liked comments are the ones building a list: somebody should keep a running directory of who still owns what. Generations before us kept community guides so a family could spend its money with its own people, on purpose. The beauty aisle in 2026 needs the modern version — because nothing on a jar has to tell you who owns the company behind it, so nothing does.

What’s inside

  • 53 brands, A to Z — one verdict per brand, at a glance.
  • The owner on the record — who holds it today, and since when.
  • A dated source on every line — so you never have to take our word for it.
  • The public watchlist — the names readers asked about that haven’t cleared verification yet, named honestly, with no verdicts.
  • A correction log — when we get something wrong, the fix is printed, dated, in plain sight.

Getting it takes one thing: an email, so we can send you the current copy whenever ownership moves. That’s the whole deal — a community reference shouldn’t have a price on it. Want every receipt, the $/oz math, and the buy/skip depth? Those live in the paid guides.

Our verdicts are opinions about disclosed ownership facts — we make no claims about any product’s effect on your hair, skin, or health. No affiliate links; no company paid to be in the directory or to stay out. Who makes this?
